Michael W. Sparks

Mike Sparks was appointed as the Executive Vice President/CEO of Florida Citrus Mutual in June 2006. Prior to joining the staff at FCM, Mike spent close to 30 years in various capacities at the Florida Department of Citrus, most recently serving as director of strategic planning and evaluation, as well as interim executive director.

Mike began his career with the FDOC as finance and accounting director in 1977. During his tenure there, he also served as market research manager, inspector general, interim scientific research director, and deputy executive director. Prior to working at the FDOC, Mike was the public accounts auditor for the State of Florida Office of Auditor General.

Mike is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s of arts in accounting and a master’s degree in public administration.

Jewel Letchworth

Jewel Letchworth is the Assistant to the Executive Vice President. She reports directly to the EVP, and her duties include managing the EVP’s office: including mail, calls and visitors; managing the EVP’s schedule: including setting up appointments and making travel arrangements; compiling information for Mutual committee and board meetings; serving as board secretary and minute taker; and acting as a liason between the EVP and members of Mutual’s board and other citrus industry organizations.
