HESCO/Marco Plastics Donates to Florida Citrus Archives

HESCO – August 4, 2011

On Tuesday, August 8th HESCO CEO Gap Kovach will announce that HESCO and Macro Plastics have jointly granted $10,000 to the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame for the Florida Citrus Archives housed at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL.

“We recognize the citrus industry as an important market segment for Macro Plastics. HESCO is our premier distribution partner in Florida and through their efforts, our business with and service to the citrus industry has grown. Celebrating the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the Hall of Fame with this grant is our way of acknowledging its importance,” said Peter Piccioli, VP of Macro Plastics.

“This grant comes as a result of business that the Florida citrus industry has generated with Macro Plastic field bins, working through HESCO,” said Mr. Kovach. “It will enable the Hall of Fame to employ two students, working with the archivist, to digitize, protect and store the valuable treasures of the citrus industry in Florida. We are pleased to be able to help preserve an important part of Florida’s history.”

Dr. Anne Kerr, President of Florida Southern College, and Brenda Eubanks Burnette, Executive Director of the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame, will receive the funds in a ceremony at the College. In addition, the grant will be acknowledged during festivities planned for the Golden Anniversary of the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame in March 2012.
