The October OJ Break will be held at the UF/IFAS Polk County Extension Office in Bartow. Registration will begin at 10:00 am followed by the seminars at 10:10 am.

Lauren Diepenbrock, assistant professor at UF/IFAS Citrus REC, will be providing an update and review of the recommendations and changes in the 2018-19 Citrus Production/Pest Management Guide.

Tripti Vashsith, assisant professor at UF/IFAS Citrus REC, will be discussing her findings related to canopy management and pruning of HLB infected trees and the best strategies to employ to reduce psyllid populations when pruning. She will also be reviewing recent findings on the use of plant growth regulators as a method to synchronize spring flowering and flush growth. The synchronization of spring growth and flowering can be used to more effectively control psyllids and post-bloom fruit drop with better-timed pesticide applications.

There will be 1 CEU for restricted pesticide license holders.

CCA CEUs have been requested.
