Florida's largest citrus cooperative zooms into India

Florida’s Natural Growers, one of the largest citrus cooperatives in the state of Florida and also one of the largest orange juice producers in the US, has recently announced its entry in the Indian market with an ambitious investment plan.

The Indian arm of the parent company will be Fresh & Natural and the product will be marketed under the brand name “Florida’s Natural”. The product which is 100 per cent pure and of premium quality, as the company claims, is pasteurised juice without water, sugar and preservatives and includes varieties like original orange, home-squeezed-style orange, growers-style orange, and orange juice plus calcium with added vitamin C, ruby red, which are available at selective outlets in Mumbai.

Rajan Warrier, MD, Fresh n Natural Foods India Pvt. Ltd, said, “The Indian FMCG sector with a market size of $13.1 billion is the fourth largest sector in the world and is expected to grow in multiples in near future. Our parent company has drawn major investment plan for storage and bottling of the juices at major metros in India, for which we are in a process of acquiring land near ports like Kandla and near Chennai, which will help us procure the juice through shipments from our Florida cultivation.”
