Jacqueline Burns has been named director of the University of Florida’s Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred.
Burns has been with the center since 1987. She has served as its interim director since early 2009, following the departure of Harold Browning, who had held the position since 1997.
The center, part of UF’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, is among the world’s largest public research facilities devoted to a single commodity. It has more than 30 faculty members and more than 200 technical and support staff positions.
