District Six Board of Directors
Raymond “Bo” Bentley, Jr. is general manager of Bentley Brothers, Inc. in Winter Haven.
Part of the 3rd generation of family members working at the business, Bentley began working in the groves in the mid 90’s, for Bentley Grove Service doing irrigation, fertilizer, pruning, maitenance, spray work in the groves. He has been working full time at Bentley Brothers since 2002.
Bentley is a current board member of Polk County Farm Bureau, President of the Mutual H2A committee, member of the Polk county FarmLabor Housing Taskforce, and an FFVA Member.
First elected to the Mutual Board of Directors in 2004, Bentley has served as Northern-Area Vice President while representing District 6. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and a master’s from the University of Florida.
Larry Black is the operations manager for Ft. Meade’s Peace River Packing.
Black was elected to represent District 6 on the Mutual Board of Directors in 2008. He has a BS in citrus from Florida Southern College and an MBA from the University of South Florida.
Dennis P. Broadaway is the executive vice president and general manager of Haines City CGA.
The third generation in his family involved in growing and packing citrus, Broadaway grew up in the family fresh fruit packinghouse in Ocoee.
Throughout his 35 years in the industry he has worked in nearly all facets of the industry including growing, packing, and processing.
In addition to his service on Mutual’s Board of Directors, Broadaway is currently involved as a Director of the Florida Citrus Packers and Florida’s Natural Growers.
Joining the Mutual Board of Directors in 1999, Broadaway has served as Treasurer while representing District 6. He is a graduate of Florida Southern College.
Victor B. “Vic” Story, Jr. of Lake Wales is the president of Story Grove Service, Inc.
A life long citrus grower, Story grew up in the orange groves of Polk County. After college he rejoined his father in the citrus industry where after 50 plus years he still remains active daily. Story is the President and Chairman of the Board for his family’s corporations. These companies are comprised of citrus holdings, management, marketing, harvesting and hauling for over 5,000 acres in Central Florida. Along with his family business positions he served on the board of directors of American Bank and Trust for over 25 years. In 2003, American Bank and Trust was purchased by Citizens Bank, where Story served on the Bank Advisory committee for the following three years.
Story served for over six years in the Army Reserves. After that time, he served as a civilian Post Mobilization Post Commander in the Florida National Guard during Operation Desert Storm; where he received the Award of the Distinguished Service Medal.
Story’s civic involvements have spanned his entire adult life. He has served as a former member and chairman of the Polk County Farm Service Agency; former board member and president of the Lake Wales Family YMCA; former board member and vice president of the Lake Wales Little League; former board member and president of the Hillcrest Elementary PTO; former City Commissioner and Mayor of Lake Wales; former Co-Chairman of the Concerned Property Owners of Polk County; board member and area vice president of Florida Citrus Mutual; board member and past president of Polk County Farm Bureau; member of Polk County Board of County Commissioner’s Task Force on Farm Labor Housing; member of the Polk County Charter Review Committee; member of the American Legion Post 71; chairman of the Polk Citizens for Good Government which in 2008 passed four amendments in which Polk County will not let amendments be brought forward at the expense of tax payers.
He is a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Wales; where is has served on the board of Deacons as well as Chairman.
Story joined the Mutual Board of Directors in 2006 representing District 6, and has served as Western-Area Vice President.
