Florida's Department of Citrus seeks international agency for $2.5m brief

PR Week – March 3, 2010

The body charged with promoting Florida’s oranges and grapefruits has put a major $2.5m (£1.67m) international PR account out to pitch.

The move by Florida’s Department of Citrus (FDoC) puts incumbent agency Golin-Harris on alert to defend one of its most important revenue streams. An agency insider confirmed that FDoC is a ‘major client’ for GolinHarris.

The international business, which centres on the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden, is ‘largely grapefruit-based’. GolinHarris has handled the business for a decade including, separately, the domestic US account.
